P: (315) 253-0351
The Commons on St. Anthony is a 300 bed facility that combines the strength of two long time Auburn organizations – Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center and Cayuga County Nursing Home. The Consolidation of these two entities results in a single location that provides high quality, person –first care for residents of Cayuga County
Skilled Nursing and Rehab
We provide long term skilled nursing care, short term rehabilitation including physical, occupational and speech therapies, social work and clinical nutritional services.
The Commons on St. Anthony offers elders and their families a warm and supportive atmosphere where all care plans are individualized by a team of health care professionals. Elders enjoy a home-like environment with spacious private or semi-private furnished rooms with enough space to add personal items.
We serve short term rehabilitation elders in a central location where family members can observe the rehabilitative process. Physical, occupational and speech therapists are available up to six days a week.
This care unit has a small kitchen and laundry in the Occupational Therapy area for training in Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
Alzheimer's & Dementia Care
We offer a specialized unit for elders with Alzheimer’s or other related dementias. Our secured unit promotes independence and safety with a wander alert system. Unique decorations are designed to encourage individual freedom in the least restrictive setting. Therapeutic and recreational programs are provided throughout the day and are designed for cognitive stimulation and memory enhancement.
Stimulating and fun-filled rehabilitation activities are geared towards wellness and independence. Events include entertainment, crafts/hobbies, baking, gardening exercise and music. Elders enjoy an in-site chapel and outdoor walking paths.
Food and Nutrition
The Commons on St. Anthony Dietary Department serves residents attractive, nutritional meals based on the Recommended Daily Allowance. Meals are served family style in the dining room. Modified diets are provided when ordered by a physician. Our Dietary Tech and Manager are available to discuss meals with residents and family members and to provide encouragement for an adequate food intake. The Registered Dietician is on-site on a weekly basis and available for those on special diets.
The Commons on St. Anthony contracts with Advanced Meal to provide our food and clinical nutritional services.
