Loretto Health and Rehabilitation Center

P: (315) 469-5570

The Loretto Health and Rehabilitation Center is comprised of the Cunningham building, a 13-floor, 487-bed long-term care skilled nursing facility, and Fahey Rehab, a 96-bed short-term residential rehabilitation program - the largest in Central New York.

The Loretto Health and Rehabilitation Center is able to offer specialized services that are not often found in smaller nursing homes because of its size. Specialized floors are dedicated to higher functioning patients, as well as those with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia.

Patient healthcare needs are met by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners & physician’s assistant, nurses, social workers, physical and occupational therapists, therapeutic recreation specialists and registered dieticians.

We offer a number of services here including:

  • Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation
  • Podiatry
  • Dental
  • Ophthalmology
  • Wound and Infection Specialist
  • Psychology Services
  • Pastoral Care
  • Palliative Care
  • Comfort Care

The facility has a large chapel for religious services and a multi-purpose auditorium for meetings, special performances and an array of resident centered events. The Cunningham lobby has varied seating areas and a large screen television for family and residents to gather and enjoy time together.

Caregiver Support

We place great value on the family unit because within it, each resident’s story has been built throughout his or her life. This is where it can be best understood. We know the resident’s situation impacts the whole family.

Therefore, our care focuses on providing support, assistance, and relief to all family members when adjusting to the effects of social, emotional, and physical losses of our loved ones.

Offerings

  • Initial and annual care plan review meetings are held with the resident, family, and interdisciplinary team.
  • Resident or family can request a meeting with the team at any time. (Arranged and facilitated by the Social Worker.)
  • Ability to participate in Family Council, a forum to discuss overall facility policies and procedures and offer suggestions to improve quality of life in a constructive manner. (Held monthly and facilitated by the Ombudsmen.)
