Qualifications: 
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Basic PC skills (MS Word, Excel, E-mail)
  • Excellent customer service skills

 

 

Responsibilities: 

The Food Service Supervisor is resposible to plan, organize, direct and review the operations of the Dietary Department to ensure that resident's nutritional

needs are met in accordance with applicable regulations, corporate directives, and facility policies and procedures.

 

Budget

  • Has responsibility to properly schedule staff, limit overtime pay and order/monitor supplies for the department within budgetary limits.

 

Compliance

  • Ensures proper tempratures of hot and cold food items, and cleanliness and organizing of food storage areas as well as food preparation and service areas.
  • Maintains confidentiality of resident information regarding dietary needs.
  • Preparing work schedule in accordance with budgetary and collective bargaining unit guidelines.
  • Reviews Dietary operations and procedures to assure that they are in compliance with all regulatory guidelines.

 

Employee Development

  • Has primary responsibility for the hiring, training, evaluation and discipline of the Dietary Staff.
  • Must be willing to meet the challenge of retention of staff in numerous part-time positions, many with short shifts.

 

Quality Assurance

  • Assures there is enough food prepared to feed all residents.
  • Ensures that food is available according to menus. Responsibilities include submitting appropriate meal count to contracted meal service, ordering dairy, bread and produce based on need and inventory, and overseeing that food items are properly stored.
  • Responsible for seeing that the resident dining room is maintained in a neat and clean fashion and provides residents a pleasant atmosphere for meals.
  • The preparation of and plating of food to be served to residents is in accordance with menus.
