The mission of Loretto Community Residences is to provide a safe, homelike setting and treatment services for challenged adults, which promotes and maintains rehabilitation responding to the desires, tolerance, and capacity of each person served.

Loretto Community Residences is comprised of three homes, housing and supporting a total of 26 residents.   Two of these homes are located in the City of Syracuse, and one in the Village of Baldwinsville.  Our homes serve older adults with psychiatric disabilities.

The goal of the program is to help our residents gently unfold their own lives; to discover their desires and dreams.  As we guide residents on their path in life, special emphasis is put forth to ensure residents are treated with Respect & Dignity.

With a primary focus on Training & Assistance in the following goal areas to build independence and skill levels:

  • Assertiveness/Self Advocacy
  • Community Integration
  • Daily Living Skills
  • Health Services
  • Medication Management & Training
  • Rehabilitation Counseling
  • Skill Development
  • Socialization And
  • Symptom Management

Services not provided at a CR:

Care that needs medical staff and/or CNA’s on duty to meet person’s needs.   

We help our residents to improve their interpersonal skills in the areas of assertiveness, conflict resolution, decision-making, and interaction with others. We carefully consider each person's desires, tolerance levels and capabilities in order to design individual rehabilitation programs.

Our Staff

The staff of Loretto Community Residences are dedicated to improving the quality of life of residents. 24 hour awake staff are available and with residents to learn skills to build their independence.  Case managers are assigned to work with each resident on their stated goals.

Other staff include:

  • Director
  • A site supervisor for each site
  • Three senior counselors
  • 16 residence counselors
  • A maintenance worker and two housekeepers

Program staff work hard to create a safe & respectful home environment while providing guidance and support. Residents are empowered through an emphasis on personal choice.  Staff work closely with residents in everything from meal preparation to crisis resolution to activities promoting independence.
